Team Lead Customer Service & Logistics

As Team Lead you will manage the Alcohol & Derivatives Customer Service team on an operational level, ensuring the delivery of goods are executed in line with contractual agreements in the most efficient and cost-effective way in accordance with internal company procedures. This includes arranging transportation from storage/tolling facilities to customers all over Europe while keeping customers satisfied in terms of logistics solutions. In this role you manage a team of six and you report to the CSL Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the team in day-to-day operations (from order entry to ready for invoicing, vendor managed inventory, consignment stocks, implementation of service level agreements, etc.) and act in case of extraordinary issues in logistics, tolling operations, and carrier management
  • Monitor and ensure Customer Service Logistics performance against optimal costs
  • Ensure excellent relationships with customers, including visits
  • Manage customers contract fulfilment and minimise backlog of outstanding contract agreements
  • Manage non-conformities and customer complaints
  • Ensure timely and correct invoicing to customers
  • Contribute to budgeting forecasts by operational inputs and create SPOs timely
  • Be the interdepartmental interface with various stakeholders a.o. Commercial, Customer Service, Finance, IT
  • Escalate operational issues to next level management when needed
  • Analyse and evaluate strategic information (freight cost, storage cost, contract management, SLA, etc.)
  • Coordinate, manage and develop relationships with third parties, warehousing, suppliers, and production site(s)
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Lead and execute projects when assigned
  • Lead, develop, motivate, and appraise the team, set SMART team and individual goals
  • Maintain SOPs and training tools for the team and assist the manager with this process when necessary

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a customer service and/or logistics position
  • Speaking/reading/writing fluent English and at least one other European language, preferably Dutch, Italian, Spanish or French
  • Good people and leadership skills
  • Good skills in MS Office and in ERP software
