Product Manager Lubricants (Castor Oil & Derivatives)
Wilmar aims to be a leading supplier of natural based ingredients for the lubricant market within next 3-5 years. This role will define and implement a strategy to expand the sales & profitability of the segment. Lead the segmentation and introduction of the entire product portfolio of Wilmar Europe into the lubricants market. In addition, this role will also own Castor Oil & Derivatives and will be responsible for developing and executing the product strategy for the Category. To drive & support the Account Managers with the objective of increasing our market share of Wilmar Europe in the European lubricant and castor oil & derivatives market. In this position, you will coordinate and follow up with Wilmar’s affiliates and assume the role of playing a technical bridge between our customers’ technical people and Wilmar’s R&D support. In addition, you will provide regular updates on new regulations, new trends and technologies.
Main responsibilities:
- Support in the research and identification of new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services and new ways of reaching existing markets
- Attend seminars, conferences and events appropriated to the business development requirements
- Organise & coordinate Lubricant market exhibition events where WET-BV deems it appropriate to attend
- Adjust and continuously update sales forecasts for products to be sold into the lubricant and castor oil & derivatives market (volume, penetration, profitability)
- Share monthly/quarterly initiatives, forecasts for the lubricant and castor oil & derivatives market
- Support business management with identifying profitability and growth opportunities
- Define and execute a strategy to expand sales (product, region, sales channel)
- Keep job, market knowledge & regulation awareness up to date
- Provide to R&D accurate information to adjust our product portfolio to European benchmark quality
- Explore new product development opportunities for the mid & long-term
- This position requires a moderate amount of regular travel in the EU and occasionally further afield to visit customers & support Account Managers at their customers
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering/Agricultural Science or comparable is desirable
- At least 5 years’ experience in the Lubricants industry, or similar
- Speaking/reading/writing fluent English and an additional European language is desired
- Good skills in MS Office & CRM
