Due to this expansion of our activities, we are currently looking for a self-starting and hands on:

HSEQ Manager

In this position you will help Wilmar to grow within the region in a safe and compliant way. You lead the HSEQ team (2FTE) in supporting the Rozenburg site and the Wilmar Europe activities. This includes process safety and compliance, road transport & marine safety and compliance. This role reports to the Plant Manager and is based at our plant in Rozenburg (Rotterdam Botlek).

Main responsibilities:

• Lead the professional development and performance of the HSEQ team
• Develop and coordinate the annual HSEQ action plan and longer term HSEQ roadmap
• Help build a proactive and caring HSEQ culture and promote health & safety in business decisions
• Ensure sustained compliance towards applicable rules and regulations (Seveso, WABO, ADN, ADR…. etc.)
• Build constructive relationships with regulatory bodies
• Take the lead for the safety/compliance (part of new investments) and provide support handling HSEQ aspects of growth initiatives
• Ensure compliance to ISO 9001/14001/45001 and other applicable standards
• Continuously improve the HSEQ management system and assist with the implementation of new or existing HSEQ-related legislation, rules, and company standards
• Organise compliance toward/be a frontrunner in Wilmar internal expectations
• Support Wilmar Europe with HSEQ management of tollers and other service providers
• Organise and perform internal and external audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
• Provide incident investigation and reporting support and expertise to line management
• Investigate accidents and ensure all documentation is tracked and updated
• Facilitate all forms of risk assessment and acts as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site
• Conduct occupational health & safety related surveys (e.g., noise, exposure to chemical substances and makes associated recommendations)
• Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders (DCMR, ISZW, PoR, Fire brigade, neighbours, Wilmar corporate)

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in relevant technical direction with a HVK or similar addition
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a SEVESO company
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
• Experience in process safety management
• Good working knowledge and appreciation of HSE rules and standards (ARBO-wet, SEVESO, ADN, ADR, WABO, ISGOTT, …)
• Hands on mentality
• Available for occasional travel abroad to support Wilmar Europe operations on HSEQ matters (new projects, tolling partners, JV sites)
